Notes
Scrap on a styrenic is mostly recoverable. Sprue and runner can be reground and blended back into virgin resin at a supplier-agreed ratio, so part of the 2% never leaves the building. The figure this site prices is the part that does: short shots, sink, and the units run while the tool comes up to temperature.
Ask the supplier what regrind ratio the quoted rate assumes. A rate quoted on 30% regrind and a rate quoted on virgin resin are not the same number, and the difference does not appear anywhere on the quotation.
