Notes
Sheet offcut has a resale value, so the scrap rate that reaches your unit price is the yield loss net of recovered material, not the gross nesting waste. Gross waste on a badly nested blank can be 20% or more while the figure that touches the price stays near 1.5%.
Ask whether the quote is priced on your nesting or on theirs. A supplier running your blank alongside another customer’s fills the sheet better, and that saving is theirs to keep unless the quotation says otherwise.
